Poetry 165

Make The Truth Your Own
Make the truth your own
As if to you it was divinely shown
As if by you it is universally known
For universal truth is not made a clone

Mount Zion
When the flood comes in again
I'm gonna head up to the top of Mount Zion
When Jesus comes down again
I'm gonna head up to the top of Mount Zion
If it's not my blood I'm not gonna take it
If it's not my faith I'm not gonna fake it
But I'm gonna head up to the top of Mount Zion
When Jehovah takes down Babylon
When the flood comes in again
I'm gonna head up to the top of Mount Zion
When Jesus comes down again
I'm gonna head up to the top of Mount Zion
The truth will set me free
Even when faith makes you a refugee
Don't fear persecution or discrimination
It won't be there when you reach God's nation
When the flood comes in again
I'm gonna head up to the top of Mount Zion
When Jesus comes down again
I'm gonna head up to the top of Mount Zion
I'm waiting for the passing of Armageddon
Sitting on top of Mount Zion
Waiting for Jehovah's day to come
When establishes His Earthly Kingdom

Imagine Paradise
Imagine every shore without an oil spill
Imagine every community without a landfill
We could all be there in paradise
And moral awareness would pay the price

Needed Things
The things we need the most are the ones we can't tell are there
Like words of love and breathe of air
Futile and functionless are the things tangible
Only what we take for granted are unchangeable

Holy Reliance Paradox
We sit sick and idly by hoping God will find a cure
As we go without Him to raise and fight a "Holy War"
We keep nothing in any sense holy, clean or pure
Naively thinking, praying God will help us endure

Love Of Freedom
Some people stand in awe of a God of all powerful skill
I prefer to look at a loving God giving of free will
But the power and the love come from one God still
Although many respect His power, justice and wisdom
Or the thought of His Eternal Heavenly Kingdom
I prefer a God who loved the world so much as to give it freedom

Pro Peace Anti Establishment
How can a man of peaceful principle be a fool?
What is there about brotherly love you can ridicule?
How can peace be the wrong way to rule?
How can peace, love and understanding be so naive?
What is there in hate, apathy and greed to believe?
What kind of establishment would they achieve?
How come we never tried peace over war?
How come we kill anyone who has ever tried before?
How can human authority define our morals anymore?

Beatitudes Of Humanity
God bless the alien resident
Persecuted by the state government
God bless the widow and fatherless child
Who by scornful words are defiled
God bless the starving and the afflicted
By those who God's Law they contradicted
God bless those struck by poverty
Who in courts can't afford to be free
God bless the exploited laborer
Who is left feeling like a corporate whore
God bless the victim of violence
Killed at another man's expense
God bless the hungry and the thirsty
Who know not where their next meal may be
God bless the stranger
Assumed a danger
God bless the naked, the sick and the imprisoned
Who are left friendless without provision
God bless those overlooked
By the accountant's book
God bless the men of a foreign nation
Righteous despite alienation
God bless those seeking to save the Earth
Trying to prove their salvation's worth

Music Of You
I'm listening to the sad music of men who never knew you
When you know what they're missing you can see their point of view
It is as if they've been waiting for you to come to them
You can hear it in their music playing like a hymn
But in ignorance and want it comes off like a dirge
Or like a simpleton looking for a muse to forge
I hope my song of you shows better appreciation
For my wandering heart's hopeful destination
