New Rock Opera Project: The Preacher

With the focus I enjoyed putting into Bettie Kaczynski: Byproduct of Society I thought of making another rock opera libretto. Brainstorming ideas lead to two basic storylines. I've chosen one and will save the other for latter if writing another rock opera will seem fun. The opera is called The Preacher it's obviously still a work in progress just starting last night. The basic plot is an unnamed character called The Preacher is persecuted for not supporting a war condoned by other characters such as the Policeman, the Politician, and the Priest. The theme of it is how a pacifist stance during a time of war puts one at odds of those who feel violence is justified.The Preacher adheres uncompromisingly and to some extent without tact that whatever the cause of war it is never justified to anyone wishing to adhere to the true principles of Christ. He automatically puts out fallacies in the justifications while no actual cause is mentioned for why the war in this particular case has to be fought. How the conflict is going to end I'm just brainstorming now, perhaps he becomes a martyr just before society comes to realize the war was unjust and there was no clear reason for war and what could have been the mass public simply rejecting the war in the first place now becomes a question of breaking down against the establishment to end this particular injustice as the masses without leadership for their cause break into anarchy
