Poetry Post 196

Simpler Days
What ever happened to the simpler days
Back when people had more innocent ways
Those days were so few
Those days I barely knew
Then they went
Hardly a day spent
It didn't last
So it passed

Uncertainty
My present uncertainties
Leave me with insecurities
Every path I start I want to go back
Always makes me feel like there's something I lack
Bridges burnt at both ends
On opposite sides are lost friends
I don't have a hundred ten percent to give
Nor even a reason to live
I have to find a guiding light for my future through the darkness of my past
All I have is a boat without motor or mast
I am lonely lost and confused
What else is there to lose

A Man On My Own
I was born a man of my own
But shaped in the shadow glory has shown
I was the lesser known
So they expected me to be a clone
I'm not my father I'm not my brother
I am myself and I don't belong to any other
Grown from the seed into the same family tree
Has cost me my right to be me

My Will
I won't succumb to self fulfilled prophesy
Society won't define my destiny
My will is mine and free
To be what I choose to be

Dream World

When I turn off the light
As I shut my eyes each night
I see a dreamworld filled with fun
Each day when the work is done
A world of field and trees
A land where you can do as you please
Enjoy the wildlife all around
Explore each spot of ground
Take in the fresh air
Then do as you care
In this pure land
Untouched by man

Goodbye City Hello Country
Goodbye city
I'm going to a better place for me
Where nature's choirs fly
Over the Earth's endless ceiling we call the blue sky
So long crowded loneliness and pollution
I've found at long last my solution
A place of privacy and peace
And wilderness too big to cease

Poetry Post 194

In Defense Of Michael Moore
You cover my mouth with your hand
While your head's hiding in the sand
You don't want someone at the mic
Exposing truths you don't like
You do not want to look beyond the illusion
Fearing failure of faith left you in confusion
The macrosystem will have an eruption
Once I show the proof of their corruption
"Please tell me there's corporate employee loyalty
Please tell me money does not make American royalty
Please let our guns protect us from the messenger
Please help guard us from the dark strangers"
Your hopes are vain
Leaving only pain
Our world is too gullible
If they think they're infallible

Land & Power
People want the world and something to lean on
People want everything not caring where it will go when they're gone
People want the world on command
But their mortal dust will return to the land
Why do they yearn for what they cannot control
Why should Earth be bind by a mortal man's soul
The massive collectives of ecosystems are collectively delicate
Too much to be under control by a man's estate

Society's Obsession
Fear is our society's obsession
To distract they use repression
Those who resist meet oppression
As the rest hide in regression
When they're afraid to do more
Society will start to ignore
If they can't do anything about it
Through denial they'll refuse to admit
But how long can we last
Trust ideals dead long past
Even with nothing else to do
They're still afraid of the new
But they'd rather live in their pollution
Than take up a new solution

New Project Rock Opera

I've decided to go back to something I started when I was in my mid teens first listening to bands like Pink Floyd and the Who and that's write the libretto for a rock opera. The idea is very basic. the name is Bettie Kaczynski: Byproduct of Society The main character is a guy named Bettie used as sort of an homage to theatrical rock. The name Bettie Kaczynski is in case you haven't guess is satirical of Marilyn Manson. I don't like his music and I don't like his name but I liked the way he coined his name. Of course its beauty meets society's dark side like his band members Gidget Gein and Twiggy Ramirez. And while the last name is always going to be twisted I just hate Charles Manson too much (being a racist man who twisted the Bible's and the Beatles' message for his own twisted ambitions) to get pass that in the case of Marilyn Manson and plus Marilyn Monroe was just a typical Hollywood bombshell nothing unique except an empty ego. I chose Bettie Page because she's a pinup model who was the victim of domestic abuse who found an escape in fetish modeling and was barred from movies despite the fact she was hotter than other actresses who couldn't act and was deemed a threat by Congress (it's interesting to note Billy Wilder refused to work with Marilyn Monroe a third time because she was just a terrible actress in his opinion and Bettie's photos are no more obscene than anything by Marilyn who also posed for Playboy) And I picked Ted Kaczynski the unabomber because he was an eccentric loner who killed by technology to ironically prove technology's danger to mankind and he is suspected of having Asperger's Syndrome so he fascinates me. As a Jehovah's Witness (if not somewhat lapsed recently by depression) I am conscience minded of the entertainment I view but I have a laxed view of entertainment as it is really very subjective and any standard has inherit hypocrisies and my personal philosophy toward music and comedy is more liberal if you pardon the political phrase than toward films and video games but sometimes violence or sex in one situation may seem more justified by what is implied by the situation (ie does the storyline fixed around the offensive acts condone or praise aberrant behavior or does it emphasis the troubles of these situations without glorifying them) So as guidelines and inspirations on how to make this epic of mine I will listen to some of the following albums of rock opera that I hope I will enjoy as well (Random order)

Unreluctant Hermit
I sit guardian of my own prison cell
Willingly protected by my own private shell
I find my loneliness more serene
Than the hectic phony social scene
I am an unreluctant hermit
Looking for a quiet place to sit
I like it better on my own
And until I make it otherwise known
Please just leave me alone

Loneliness In Bed

I lie in bed
But my love ain't there
And I'm not going anywhere
Got to put a band aid on my head
Got to hide the pain
This wound that will not heal
I must try to conceal
Block it from my brain

Sickness

Laying ill upon my bed
So much pain I wish I was dead
The aching pain I dread
Covers my stomach and head
I wake up with nauseating
Pain beyond the need of medicating
I must wait for the pain to end
Wait alone without a friend

Gifts Of Brotherly Love
If you see a stranger, take him in
This reveals the person within
A man may atone for his sin
By taking his neighbor as his kin
With love and tolerance
One's life will find its balance
With hospitality you can buy a second chance
Look for brotherly love before romance

Divinity
To render justice with true evaluation
Takes knowledge of not only sin but situation
To show love of the Christ like sense
Takes shedding of the Christian pretense
To have wisdom from lips depart
Takes listening with an open heart
To have the power of empathy not force

Stuck (Haiku)
Help me please help me
I need to plant but lack seeds
Stuck in beginning
